Cassidy fights the lingering feelings for her ex, Ian. Still secretly, desperately in love with him, she settles for sharing a house and a business. Their lives are intertwined in every way--except the way she wants most.

Fear of commitment drove Ian to push their romance into the friendship zone. But things become decidedly uncomfortable when sexy Scotsman Kye McClellan enters the picture. Ian is faced with the sudden prospect of losing the thing most precious to him.

As both Cassidy and Ian succumb to Kyes charms, Cassidy begins to wonder if she can have all she's ever wanted...plus one. Then, just as things get white-hot, Kyes takes to his feet to avoid the burn. Ian and Cassidy are left with each other...and an even bigger missing piece than before. All they can do is trust that love will somehow bring their gypsy-hearted lover home again.

Rating: 7/10

PROS:
- Ian and Cassidy's connection, the depth of which neither of them is fully aware, is depicted well: they anticipate each other's needs, understand each other's expressions, finish each other's sentences, etc.
- There's some hot sex, two or three scenes in particular.
- The feelings of jealousy that I feel must be inevitable in most threeway relationships are explored in a fair amount of detail. Those parts aren't necessarily pleasant to read, but I admired Thompson's willingness to look at the negative side to threesomes as well as the positive.

CONS:
- The way that Ian and Cassidy invite Kye into their lives so quickly weirded me out a little. Cassidy meets Kye in a bar and asks him to go home with her after maybe an hour: okay, I get that. That's typical bar behavior for some people. But I raised my eyebrows when the next morning (after no sex, mind you, so the "we slept together so we're connected" thing's not there), she and Ian allow Kye access to all of their business records.
- Kye's wanderlust tendencies seem to go away or be quenched or whatever very quickly. I didn't quite buy the speed with which he realizes he's ready to settle down to hearth and home. In fact, I didn't believe at the end that he was there to stay forever.
- More flowery language in the sex scenes in this book than I remember encountering in the other Thompson novels I've read: "petals of her sex," "sweet nectar," "hooded pearl," etc. Ich. I much prefer the simple names of body parts and such.

Overall comments: This is a decent book; there's a bit of angst thrown in, but nothing that lasts too long or is too painful, and the writing is solid. With others of Thompson's books, though (Handyman and Switch, to be precise), I was left with a warm, delicious feeling after finishing them, and that's just not present after reading this one.

Our Man Friday edition by Claire Thompson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Cassidy is out at the bar feeling like she's failing and is scared she's going to let her business partner and roommate, Ian, down. Cassidy is in love with Ian but they've already tried being a couple and they broke it off so they didn't ruin their friendship. They decide to buy a house and start a business together. She handles all the money and every aspect of the business while Ian makes the jewelry they sell, but right now they're not making enough to make it out of the black and she's too scared to tell Ian.

While she's at the bar, a sexy man sits next to her and when they get to talking Cassidy learns that Kye knows how to market and keep track of money. She also learns that Kye needs a place to stay since he just got to town. They reach a deal where Kye can stay with Ian and Cassidy and he will help her with the business and help get them out of debt.

At first Ian doesn't like that Cassidy brought a very sexy man home with her. Ian still loves Cassidy but he is scared of getting hurt. Ian and Cassidy are both attracted to Kye, and when Cassidy and Kye start sleeping together, Ian doesn't know how to handle it.

Kye can tell that Ian and Cassidy love each other and he doesn't understand why they won't act on their feelings. He finds them both attractive and pretty soon Ian is joining Cassidy and Kye in bed. But once feelings start to get in the mix Kye takes to his gypsy ways and decides to leave.

Even though Cassidy and Ian have finally admitted to their feelings and are starting to work it out, once Kye is gone they both feel like a piece is missing. They decide to go after Kye and talk him into coming home where he belongs, with them. Are they too late in going after Kye, or are they able to get the happily ever after that none of them ever thought of?

This was a decent read with a decent plot. The sex scenes were alright, nothing crazy but overall it was a good book and I'm sure I'll try some of the authors other books.

Reviewer for Bloggin with M. Brennan
suprised by the effect of this book. I like reading about these three. there were some really hot scenes about the two guys and then of them with her but, also one about rejection of affections. pretty strange how they shared all of the responsibilities of the business and house. I find it hard to believe you could share your lover but, I like reading about it!
This is the first book I've read by this author, but it won't be the last. The story was well written with plently of back story and developed characters. I love that the pace of the romance was built up nicely and the characters didn't all jump into bed together after only 3 pages. The story was also fairly long, so you don't feel cheated )
